Gone

She wanders into the night,
No sound, no one is sight,
She purses her lips in anger,
Because she knew of the danger.

Scents of smoke rose in the air,
People walked around without a care,
Visions of these in her mind
She cannot leave them behind.

Empty houses, empty buildings,
Empty of care, empty of feelings,
No more laughter from the children,
No more voices ever again.

The Spy

Lurking in the bushes
Slithering in the streets
Sudden flashes of light
Secrets in a roll

The same place, same time
Same people being watched
Maybe someone saw him
Maybe not

Next time around
An armed guard outside
Risks to take
Dangerous grounds

Returning with caution
Guards still there
Not safe
Then a bang
